CBG Donates School Items to Mantukwa D/A Primary & JHS in Sunyani West District

Consolidated Bank Ghana ltd (CBG) in the month March donated some school items to the Mantukwa Primary School located in the Sunyani West District of the Bono Region as part of its Regional CSR activities. These items included teachers’ desk and chairs, cupboards for books, pens & pencils, exercise books and slates.

The ceremony was graced with the presence of the GM – Branches and Digital Channels, Mr. Edward Antwi together with Apeagyei Frempong (Head, Branch Network), Michael Ansong (Head, Administration & General Services), Bernice Asamoah (Regional Manager-Ashanti North), Eric Yaw Kwarteng (Regional Manager, Ashanti South), Opoku Amponsah (Cluster Manager).

Speaking at the event was Mr. Edward Antwi who explained that education is one of the CSR pillars of CBG and the Bank is always ready to support with the fostering of education in the country. He further expressed hope that the donation would help the school in addressing its logistical challenges and further enhance the relationship between CBG and the community.

Mr. Seth Obonu (Representative of Director of Education-Sunyani West) together with his team received the items on behalf of the Schoolexpressed gratitude to the Management of CBG for the support. He praised CBG and mentioned that, the presentation was the first of its kind since the District was carved out of Sunyani Municipality. He appealed to CBG Management to always remember the school for further assistance. Nana Yeboah Asuamah, the Development Chief of Mantukwa, also commended CBG for responding to the school by donating these teaching and learning materials despite the COVID-19. The Headmistress of the School, Madam Sidique Hanna assured CBG that she and her colleagues would make good use of the items to improve teaching and learning of the students. 

Mantukwa Primary school was chosen for the project when CBG Cluster Manager, Opoku Amponsah and his Sales Team visited the school to sell personal loans and realised that the school needed some logistical support including tables and chairs for teachers
